Easter Special at London Aquatics Centre

We had an impromptu Easter Roda in our Sunday class at the Aquatics Centre. It was really brilliant to welcome Contra-Mestre Boneco and Professora Rilene of Grupo de Capoeira Menino Quem Foi Seu Mestre, and Asuka from FICA London, as well as members of Capoeira BemVindo, alongside some of those who have started capoeira as part of the Our Parks project.

The Sunday classes are free and they are a great chance to give capoeira a try – they include stretches, exercises to build strength, and a full introduction to capoeira moves and the game. There are some people who have been coming for a few months now, and it is fantastic to play them and enjoy their first steps in capoeira with them!

The classes are part of the Our Parks project. They run every Sunday 12-1pm on the viewing platform of the swimming pool in the Aquatics Centre, Olympic park. When the weather gets better we’ll be training outside – there’ll be more info on that later!! Details of next week’s class are here.
